IGI Airport Delhi is one of the busiest airports in the world with a record footfall. In an endeavor to make life simpler for the passengers and travelers, Delhi Police of IGI Airport Unit has switched to e-reporting by installing a Delhi Police Facilitation Kiosk and Interactive Panel at forecourt of T-3 terminal at IGI Airport. The services in this Hi-tech police facilitation kiosk is available 24X7 to the public and is also manned by the dedicated police facilitations officers round the clock for assistance. The idea behind the commissioning of this kiosk is to provide better police related services at one point without requiring public to search and go to the police station and thereby saving vital time of the passengers. Later this facility would be extended to terminals T-1 & T-2.
Firstly, on 18/12/2018 at 1630 Hrs, Sh. Anil Baijal, Hon’ble LG, Delhi in the presence of Sh. Amulaya Patnaik, Commissioner of Police, Delhi inaugurated Public Facilitation Kiosk having Interactive Panel for facilitating of online services of Delhi Police. This interactive panel installed at Arrival Forecourt of T-3, IGI Airport is having the following online citizen services provided by Delhi Police:-

Later, the Hon’ble LG, Delhi launched ‘Prahari Scheme’ for IGI Airport Unit of Delhi Police. Prahari is a force multiplier community-policing scheme of Delhi Police for ensuring active participation of Private Security Guards and Chowkidars. The aim of this scheme is to take the policing at higher level by bridging the gap between Delhi Police and private security guards and chowkidars. Delhi Police has entrusted various responsibilities to the security guards/chowkidars present in the area by giving them a new identity – ‘Delhi Police Prahari’. These guards have round the clock presence in the area and are eyes and ears of the police. Now, instead of restricting themselves with only their own assigned task or duty, they feel proud by sharing information and extending cooperation and assistance to the local police.
IGI Airport Unit has en-rolled 600 Praharies from the 11 Hotels and 3 commercial centers of Aerocity and other institutions of Airport complex. They have been issued Prahari Identity Cards. These praharies are extended strength of IGI Airport Police. They will play very important role in crime prevention and in maintenance of law and order in the area. To get the best professional support, they have been trained by IGI Airport Police in many fields like Checking & Frisking, self defence, keeping watch on doubtful elements, information gathering & sharing etc.
Hon’ble LG, Delhi, also distributed certificates along with cash rewards to Uttam Praharis and good Samaritan for their commendable works. The function was attended by Sh. G.B.S. Raju, Business Chairman/GMR Airports, Sh. Videh Kumar Jaipuriar, CEO/GMR and Sh. Ranjit Narayan, ED/Security, DIAL, DIG/CISF, Jt. Commissioner Customs, other dignitaries and the guests from Aerocity, Airforce, Customs, Airlines, CISF, NSG etc. apart from media and the officers of Delhi Police.
